100G QSFP28 Transceivers

The 100G module tier specified by reach: 10 km single-mode pairs and in-hall multimode variants.

This page covers the 100G QSFP28 tier as a selection problem. The modules share the QSFP28 shell and the 4×25G lane structure, but they split sharply by reach and fiber: parallel multimode variants for spine-leaf wiring inside a hall, and duplex single-mode variants for links that leave the building. GRT’s own documented QSFP28 point is concrete — the FF-1102E adapter on the self-developed G810-2Q controller takes QSFP28 optics on both of its 100G ports.

Reach drives everything downstream: connector type (MPO for parallel multimode, LC duplex for single-mode), the patch-cord family you stock, and the loss budget your plant must meet. Decide the longest link in the design first, then standardise the fleet on the fewest variants that cover it.

Selection checklist

What reach do the bundled F1102EBPLR modules have?

They are 100G single-mode modules rated at 10 km, supplied as a pair with the card.

Can I run 100G QSFP28 over old multimode plant?

Only short distances and only with parallel-optics variants matched to your fiber grade. For anything beyond in-hall runs, plan single-mode.
