10G DAC Cables

The volume interconnect of the 10G era: SFP+ DAC assemblies between servers and their top-of-rack switch.

The 10G DAC is the cable that wired a generation of racks: an SFP+ connector at each end, twinaxial copper between, in lengths matched to rack geometry. GRT lists 10G DAC copper cables explicitly in its cable range, and they remain the default recommendation for 10G server-to-ToR links where both ends sit in the same rack.

Ordering discipline matters more than brand here. Measure per-link: the server port and the switch port it lands on define the length, and slack should be centimetres, not metres — excess DAC bulk strangles airflow. When you send us a rack elevation or a simple port map, we return a per-link length schedule with the quotation.

Per-link checklist

Are DAC cables coded like modules?

The connector carries identity memory like a module, and hosts can be selective about what they accept. Tell us both endpoint platforms with your inquiry so compatibility can be checked before you commit — a loaner assembly can prove the pairing under our free testing service.

Can a 10G DAC connect two different vendors’ switches?

A DAC is a standard assembly electrically; acceptance depends on the module checks each host applies. Confirm both platforms with our team before ordering, rather than buying from a generic bin.
